1. Deep Water Culture (DWC)

How It Works

Deep Water Culture (DWC), also known as a raft system, uses a floating platform (usually foam) to support plants so their roots remain constantly suspended directly into nutrient-rich water. High volume aeration is pumped through airstones directly into the water bed to ensure that plant roots never suffocate. This system is incredibly stable for temperature management and is exceptionally popular for mass-producing leafy vegetables like lettuce.

How It Works

The Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) system continuously circulates a very shallow, thin stream—or "film"—of nutrient water down long, slightly tilted channels. The bare roots of the plants sit directly in this flowing film inside waterproof gullies. Because the film is shallow, the top section of the plant roots stays humid but exposed to open air, receiving an exceptional amount of oxygen while the bottom tip absorbs constant water and feed.

How It Works

Vertical towers stack growing pockets upward into a columns format to drastically maximize output in highly limited geographic space. Water is fed directly up to the top of the central column assembly before trickling downwards via gravity, washing past suspended root bundles along the inner core. It utilizes zero soil and can multiply yield footprint efficiency up to several times over traditional standard horizontal grow designs.

How It Works

Media beds utilize heavy structural trays packed with inert elements such as expanded clay pebbles, volcanic rocks, or gravel to physically anchor plant base paths. This layout regularly cycles water up and down utilizing auto-siphons (Bell Siphons), creating a flood-and-drain mechanism. The physical media acts simultaneously as an incredibly robust biological filter zone, capturing solid fish waste and providing massive surface space for nitrifying bacteria.

How It Works

The aquaculture tank is the biological engine room powering the whole club ecosystem. This holds our stock species, generating vital ammonia inputs via metabolic digestion products. It requires regular water velocity parameters, precise food calculation profiles, and mechanical filtration dumps to route solid components safely out into active bacterial processing channels before reaching plant roots.
